Build a daily finance dashboard from your accounting and bank data
A consultancy owner with no coding or GitHub experience used Claude Code to build a branded financial dashboard connected to QuickBooks and his business bank account, and now checks it most mornings.
What they did
He described what he wanted in plain English with no spec: year-to-date revenue for each of his two businesses, pace against an annual goal, tax set-aside pots with shortfall alerts, unpaid invoices with days until due, and recent money in and out. Claude Code built it, explained unfamiliar tools when asked, and deployed it via GitHub and Vercel, with brand colours pulled from Canva.
What happened
The poster says the first working version took about two hours, he sees his pace against the goal in seconds each morning, and the dashboard flagged on its own that one client made up over half of his revenue.
Keep in mind
Getting the data connections working took several more sessions of back-and-forth, and the public demo uses dummy figures, so his live numbers are not shown.
Try it with your agent
Build me a one-page financial dashboard for my business. Pull data from <your accounting software> and <your bank export folder>, and show year-to-date revenue, progress against an annual target of <your target>, unpaid invoices with days until due, and a tax set-aside balance with an alert when it falls short. Explain each setup step in plain language before you run it.
Replace the <angle brackets> with your own details.
