Fill your accountant's tax organizer and recheck last year's return

Claude in ChromeUser storyMar 2026

An operator who owns several single-member LLCs used Claude in Chrome and Claude Code to fill his CPA's tax organizer, review the prior return and rebuild it as a test. The rebuild mostly matched the CPA's, and the review surfaced a missed deduction.

What they did

Claude in Chrome read the fields of the CPA's PDF organizer into JSON, Claude Code worked out the answers, and Chrome filled the form back in, in chunks because of usage limits. He had Claude review the previous year's return, prepare retirement plan forms, and then rebuild that return from source documents to compare with the CPA's version.

What happened

The poster says the organizer came out accurate after his review and the review found a goodwill depreciation deduction the CPA had missed, which the CPA agreed with. The test rebuild matched the CPA in most areas but had two errors that would have meant paying noticeably more tax.

Keep in mind

A leftover notes file with the real numbers sat in the folder, so the rebuild was not a clean test. Claude also invented a charitable deduction from a misread abbreviation and suggested some gray-area tax ideas.

Try it with your agent

Open <your accountant's tax organizer PDF> and list every field as JSON. Fill in what you can from the documents in <your tax documents folder>, mark anything you are unsure about, and wait for me to review before writing back into the form. Then review <last year's return PDF> and list possible missed deductions with the document that supports each one, so I can ask <your accountant>.

Replace the <angle brackets> with your own details.
