Extract key clauses from every contract and make them searchable
Unifi, a large North American aviation ground handler, built a contract pipeline in which uploaded labor agreements are read, summarized and stored as structured data, and lawyers query them through a Copilot Studio agent.
What they did
Legal staff upload a collective bargaining agreement to SharePoint, which triggers Power Automate and AI Builder to extract the text, including scanned pages, and pull out clauses such as expiry dates and paid vacation. Summaries and metadata go into Dataverse, with a glossary of company terms kept in a spreadsheet. Lawyers then ask the Copilot Studio agent questions in plain language, and managers see a dashboard of contracts by expiry.
What happened
The company says contract processing went from days to minutes, replacing hundreds of hours of manual extraction a year, and the system went live in under two months. In its own tests, text extraction matched manual work exactly.
Keep in mind
This is a Microsoft-published story built with a Microsoft product manager's help, with no published baseline. The accuracy figure covers text extraction only, and customer contracts are still a plan.
Try it with your agent
For each contract in <your contracts folder>, extract the parties, start and end dates, renewal terms, notice periods and <clauses that matter to you>, with the page number for each. Save the results as one row per contract in <your tracking spreadsheet> and write a three-line summary per contract. Then list contracts expiring in the next <number> months.
Replace the <angle brackets> with your own details.
